Vactan supplier.

Anyone know if there is a supplier of vactan, anywhere between Penkridge going towards Autherley then up the Shropshire canal? Thanks in advance. Ian.

I checked midland swindlers on Tuesday and they only had fertan, so I took that , begrudgingly at £29 a litre

The only time I ever tried to use it I found Fertan hopelessly inferior to Vactan.

Perhaps I did something wrong, but I believe I used it in line with the manufacturers instructions.

I would never buy it again.

EDITED TO ADD:

I think it is probably hard to acquire Vactan, other than via an on-line order - I can't recall ever seeing it on a chandlers shelves.

Yes Alan I find Vactan to be by far the  best rust killer available. As you say a devil to find without going online. It’s not desperate I only have a couple of spots to treat. May have to wait until I’m home to order it.

I had to buy on line from the makers via ebay.It arrived very quickly by secure carrier with an email first advising time of delivery, I understand because their post office is closed for a week. £12.60 + £5.50 delivery for 1litre.

I've used Fertan, found it worked pretty well, thought I would try something different this time.

We have found Kurust pretty satisfactory for small areas.

The obvious advantage being that it can easily be obtained from motoring outlets, such as Halfords.

I still prefer Vactan for large scale work, though.

Vactan is my fav too, by a long way but what I needs to do was, in my eyes only, urgent. Course it wasn’t, I am just impatient.
