Don a high-vis jacket and walk along the tow path carrying a tablet pausing regularly . See how many boats behind you suddenly decide to cast off and be elsewhere . Slap my wrist, mustn't be uncharitable Works in other fields as well - I recently walked a length of road with a member of MK Highways (looking at the location for a potential new pedestrian crossing). He had the full Hi Viz as he was required to do "at work"; the screech of tyres and brakes from those motorists slightly exceeding the speed limit was quite apparent...
