Replying to topics shows my earlier response

When using my phone I access the forum using the same template (or whatever it is called) as I do on my PC BUT if I want to make another post to a thread my response includes my previous response(s). No amount of editing will stop my earlier comment's being repeated 

I have had a look at settings but can't see an answer

I have sometimes found this on my computer; there is, I think, a button marked "clear editor" which, when pressed, deletes one's previous text.

I get all sort of oddities when I'm editing via my tablet, can't delete blank posts, cursor jumping to a random point and more. I just accept that android is an imperfect medium for typing and editing.
