Easter Boat Gathering at Ellesmere Port

That big hole in the Middlewich arm has rather compromised our plans for the next few weeks so plans are changing. As we are currently in Chester we could go down to the Easter do at Ellesmere Port, the music on offer looks very good.

The website says boats have to be booked in advance but then mooring is on a first come-first served basis. So I have two questions...

1 Is it OK to turn up in a non historic boat and moor somewhere within the museum, or is this very bad form, is it formally or informally reserved for historic boats only?

2 Can we take the dog into the music venue? (we have a lurcher that self-harms if left alone).   Dog has just done the Paddies night bash at Telfords Warehouse so I'm sure she could do a bit of folkie stuff.

We took Resolute years ago. No problem then, the only stipulation being that non historic craft were asked to moor in the lower basin. No idea about the dog situation, sorry.....

Last time I went all the moorings in the lower basin were either full of commandeered scrap or off limits because of the hotels not wanting moorers anywhere near, very poor welcome.
