Curling fail: we was robbed

Featured Posts

The girls are at it again. So far (at the half way point) its a tight match. Its fair to say they've stepped up their game, they are shooting better but there's still not quite the deadly accuracy needed to capitalise on some situations and little errors are creeping in here or there. So it could go either way!!

Japan were too good:mellow:

yes, again, the team who played best won. At that level you just cannot afford to play bad shots

Of course, the team are gutted - rightfully so as well. But let's not lose sight of the big picture, they have played reasonably well and earned their place in the top 4, the other 3 teams which went through to the semi finals were just that bit better. And today, Japan were marginally better - it was a close match, Japan never grabbed the bull by the horns either and played a very defensive game frustrating the tactics and leading to a low-scoring total. They knew GBR wanted/needed to get a 2 in the final end and were able to close things down sufficiently so that the required shot was a far from simple, pressure shot. Yes, Eve missed it - but she took the chance to seize the match, she could have played safe and gotten the 1, gone into the extra end without the hammer, lost it there and would have forever been thinking "I wonder if I had played it, what would have happened?". Better to have tried and failed, than not tried enough.
