Well done Wayne on setting yourself up doing this. I am sure you will get loads of jobs. I use contractors for electrickery stuff and starting to find a good network of people who will do jobs in the Warwick area....but often you have to wait weeks to get someone to turn up. One area that seems difficult to get support is to fix problems with pump out toilets. We recently did a service on our vacuflush system which I did myself but only because I couldnt find anyone local to do it. It actually was not too bad doing it and if there are any blockages in future I will be able to tackle it myself. It does show a gap in the market though and one for which you could charge more for. Pump out toilet specialists dont grow on trees!

MMMmmmm fixing poo pies, not sure on that but then taking the **** with the smooth i guess works.

The longer my full time job goes on now i am getting more fed up with it, dont know if that is with having no radio for the last two months, which a driver will understand is not good. Or the thought of working for myself and getting this going properly. Maybe a good twelve months off yet before i can get enough work in but its worth the wait and effort to build up.

I was going to show my new business cards i designed on Vista but i think that is pushing it on here with me advertising, dot want to push my luck.

I appreciate the Mods and Admin have not locked this thread, so thinks for that.

The one on the right "before" and "after" is a bit dangerous. People will be expecting you to turn water into wine next!

I agree. The general public can be shockingly dense. I used to have 'before and after' photos in my marketing and the most common question was "which is the before and which is the after?", despite it being blindingly obvious.

I gave up using them :banghead:

I have found it impossible to find anyone to service & repair my oil drip stove, so like Dr Bob and his macerator toilet, I ended up having to learn how to repair it myself.

Might be another thing you could learn to do and charge a premium for?

Is there much call for this though ?

I wouldnt mind learning about them and offering to service and repair them, thing is there are a lot of types/makes about. Unless they all work on a similar principle.

The Lockgate,  Kabola and Bubble oil stoves all use the same "Toby" regulator and work on the same principle.

The "Toby" regulator seems complicated at first,  but if you can strip an SU carburettor down, then you can strip down a "Toby" regulator.

Koukouvagia did an illustrated post on taking a Lockgate stove to bits and rebuilding it.
