I like it spread out makes working on it easier in the future. When its all neat but crammed in its hard work especially if the replacement is bigger than its predecessor which is a given

Its an art form. Getting the whole work into a compact form but not crammed, in such a way that there is some length on the cables available for when as you say you need to get the next, bigger, upgrade in, and to get it neat and regular, it takes skill and sheer genius and is instantly recognisable when you see it.  Oh for a complete range of matching compatible box styles!
