Vetus Bullflex flexible coupling experience

How many of you are using vetus bullflex couplings? What kind of experiences with those?

What bullflex model and what kind of engine and propeller shaft setups? How many hours you have used it?

I doubt many on this forum will have used vetus although of course some will have. I used it on a couple of larger boats but most narrowboat and inland boat owners in the UK avoid it like the plague as it is impossible to buy more expensive stuff than theirs.

I've got a few bits of Vetus stuff on my boat. While I agree that inland waterways boaters tend to avoid Vetus, plenty do use Vetus gear simply because that's what was fitted by the builder.

i remember reading on yachty type forum that vetus means

We have the Vetus Bull flex coupling on our boat since new, 11 years ago, no problems so far. It's a 65 hp Vetus engine but not sure about prop spec.

What is the gearbox modell and how many hours of use you have?

Oh crikey now you are asking,  gearbox ZF 25/2.0 reduction ratio 2:1 and over 5000 hours.

Prop spec: 3 bladed bronze, right hand, 19" x 13" - had to dig the book out for that!
