So, Just saw this in the Tilergraph,  Well done to all involved.  Just made me wonder how many stories people have of 'near death experiences' or Saved by a passer by.

I know we had to escort one gentleman (who happened to be the marina manager,but will mention no names)back to his boat after having an afternoon 'Trying' Jack Daniels on a friends boat. without us there i'm 100% he'd have gone in. 

Anyway, happy reading. Nice to have a good news story

As a contrast, up in Scotland, when one of the hire boat company staff went in to the canal to extract a child, he got a bollocking from Scottish Canals!! 

Well done to all involved in this one.

Me too, I wouldn't have said he was over 70 looking at that picture.

Why not? That's certainly the gentleman in question. Knowing him casually as a fellow moorer, I was astounded to learn his age.

Fortunately, he fell in between the pontoon and the bank, and Sarah didn't so much jump in as slither down through the reed bed to reach him. She ended up standing waist deep in the water, holding his head up and hollering for help.

Well his age in in the paper so it must be right!
