Daily maintenance on RN engines

On Fulbourne's National you fill the oil reservoirs daily, give a turn on the oil filter screen and grease the water pump eccentrics if they need it.

We have a dry sump engine with an enormous external oil tank, so the oil level only needs to be checked occasionally, but on a wet sump engine I'd do it daily.

Ok many thanks so just really checking oil levels

Tush, tush -

polishing the family engine is as important as all that oil stuff...

Oil the linkages between governor and fuel pump.  Check water and oil.  Polish brightwork.

The first is the one which people often forget and its very important to ensure smooth running - VERY thin oil needed even WD40 worked for me
