nicknorman Posted February 9, 2018 Report Share Posted February 9, 2018 (edited) Anyway, by way of lightening the mood, and on the subject of composites, here is a glider same make and model as mine, doing a winch launch. Wing span is 25 metres and the wing thickness is "not a lot" so a very strong carbon fibre construction but still lots of bend as the wings start to produce lift. Despite the bendy wings and its takeoff weight of around 750kg you can still pull 5g in it if you want to. Wing bend tends to look worse when you are sitting in it looking along the wing!
