Wolverton Station

Hi Everyone,  

We need to pick up our daughter from the train as we go north on the GU in a few weeks time and the obvious place for us to meet is as we go through Wolverton.

Is it easy to get on to the towpath from the station in Wolverton?  It looks like there might be some steps down to the towpath from the Stratford Road Bridge, but Google Earth shows a locked (?) gate.

Any helpful suggestions?

Those stairs are now closed.

there is a revamped bit about 20 yards nearer the town of wolverton - walk through there and it comes to the canal.

if coming from the canal, moor by the new flats and walk over the big black bridge. Go over this, straight out to the main road, turn left and the station is 50? 100? Yards on the left, not far anyway.

Yes, this, exactly.

I doubt the locked steps directly to the road will ever re-open.
