If we'd only had time to do Factory and Brades.....

Congrats to Indigo Dream.

Where are the results? Not that I'm desperate to know how Team Tawny did, or anything, you understand.

So the captain hasn't told you yet either?

Not that I am desperate either

Yay, we made it to the bottom, well bottom boat that is. I was really worried that we might have beaten Laurie.

Cheers Graham

Congratulations!

Splendid to see there was a walker this year after all that effort we went to getting footwork included ?

After 2 years off it'll be good to rejoin the Challenge next year

By boat or on foot?

And the Scottish lion on the front, yes

On encountering a purple boat with a lion rampant on the front in northern Birmingham I initially - and perhaps wrongly - associated it with something more local than that.

Results are published. Indigo Dream was the winner and Clarrie wasn't last.

I think Northstar must have been docked some points as their score for the route they did with the crew should have been a lot more than it was. Maybe because they ran out of fuel and had to be towed.

...or they were speeding when they still had some fuel left....

Does anybody know what happened to Carpe Vinum? Was it successfully recovered? What was the hull damage?

As far as I know it's a write off and we may see the crew on another little boat next year.....

I think that would have meant disqualification. Although they did leave us way behind below Factory locks.

What I do know is they didn't have their cruising log because they took photos of mine at the start. So they may not have supplied all the information necessary to get all the weighting factors or even all the route scored. Their basic route should have scored 327 points with a two person crew.

They ran out of fuel because the helmsman - who was not the captain - had the engine at full throttle against lock gates while waiting for locks to be prepared and whilst in the chamber. All we could hear was engine noise interspersed with thumps of boat against gate.

That is an awful lot of points, significantly above our points for our planned route (excluding clues). With their hold up at Walsall, I doubt they achieved their target
