AndyV
Does anyone know of a 3L3 installed in a narrowboat? Common sense would suggest that it would be ridiculously big for the purpose but there are plenty of Kelvin Ks about for which the same could be said (my last boat had a K2). Was there a 2L3? It would be nice if it ever existed, but I think it didn't?
matty40s
There's a few, more common are 4LW. I know of at least a couple of 4L2 as well, and yes, they are wasted on muddy ditches. Edited July 6, 2017 by matty40s
noddyboater
The smallest L3 was a 3 cylinder, Mr. Redshaw had a complete one he was thinking about selling before he moved from Braunston. Far too big for a narrowboat of course but I did once consider swapping my 3L2 for a cheap K4...
mark99
What's diff between a 3L3 and 3L2? Here is 3L2 (seen one of these on the cut). http://www.marinepowerservices.co.uk/video-gallery/video/1931-gardner-3l2-engine-first-run-after-restoration Edited = very big difference! much bigger CC's. Etc. Edited July 7, 2017 by mark99
by'eck
L2 bore and stroke 4 1/4 "x 6", L3 5 1/2" x 7 3/4" So L3 substantially bigger. 3L3 nearly twice the weight at 1.5 tons! Edited July 7, 2017 by by'eck
