more fun bits recently...... the signwriter is working wonders, and really bringing her to life, a sneak preview below! we've also been finishing the welding, attaching fore end guards and starting to chop the baseplate off to the chine, which is proving tricky given the steep angle of the chine plank, and struggling to get the plasma cutter in. We may end up using oxypropane but we're currently out of Oxygen.

We've also primed the top bend on one side, having been cleaned back we thought it best to protect the steel, and will linish and then prime again when the weather, and diary improve!

If anyone is interested there is a Heritage Open Day at Langley Mill on the 13th, next sat and Norway will be on display if anyone wishes to have a gander. Tickets are available from the Eventbrite website i believe, and are free.

Dan, what you need is a couple of dolups of “hosmucanta” spread strategically around the boat. It will smell just like a wooden one then.😁

Just run a few snots of sprayfoam strategically around the seams and up the stem and stern. That will give the appropriate look!

For that authentic wooden boat smell, just spread some Stockholm tar around beneath the back cabin floor. Delicious!

Available from some pet stores, and certainly from horsey types.

I can see from the second photo that there is some exterior blacking to do on the starboard side, but presume since the inside is now all painted the welding must be finished. What else still has to fit into the 20 days?
