blacking.

shutts

running gear

cloths

engine and shaft alignment

stern shaft needs a bit of turning on the taper.

bolting of engine lid on cabin top

plasma rest of base plate off

drink some cider

I think that's it.

The purists would say that you should leave the final alignment of the engine and shafting until the boat is in the water, thus accounting for any changes in shape after launch.  The  effect of loading,  say,  25 tons of coal somehow gets glossed over.

So, one less job before launch?

With this hull shape and a 44hp Kelvin K2 its gonna go like a speeding bullet!!

Are you sure a Meccano electric motor and battery wouldn't be more suitable?

Wow! Hard to believe what you have achieved from such bare bones of a boat. Congratulations you must be bursting with pride.

Well done  all round.

Someone has nicked the Kelvin's water pump.

There's lots of bits missing off it... Particularly, the big brass petrol carbeytooter* is missing too!

* Some people spell it "carburettor", but that would be wrong, obviously.

Fabulous news. Hopefully all is OK in water. Surely to have the authentic wooden boat look and feel  she needs to go under the once though?

we thought about tipping some clear resin in the bilge to replicate bilge water.

Also needs a bilge pump discharging overboard for 75% of the time....

Looks gorgeous overall -- except perhaps that weld seam running diagonally downwards from the bow... 😉
