Is anyone going from Torksey to West Stockwith today? I did hear it might be busy and wish to time arrival to avoid others.... if possible.  Naturally enough it is usual for everyone to  turn up at the same time !

We have been deterred  by poor visibility this morning , at Hull ,and now expecting to be travelling tomorrow.

I am guessing the cotswold cruising club's 12 boats will be clever enough to stagger their arrival times.

Our group is 3 cruisers and all are big enough to be one at a time in the lock. The lock keeper will have a busy day.

I hope the narrowboats will be able to use the canal for mooring as we are too tall for the exit out of the basin.

I would ring the lockie in advance.

If they are all booked in the basin he may move some of them under the bridge to get you in.

Equally he may just say the basin is full and there is no room for you

Lock keeper contact was made yesterday and again this  morning to advise our change of plan. The lock keeper recognised our boat names.

So we are expected and will confirm our ETA once we are on the Trent.
