At least you can see the driver got out of the cab OK - not so sure of it in the selection of clips that follow that one, especially the various vehicles that went through the ice  ;-(

Couldn't quite work out if he was trying to reverse the load onto the barge, or just backing up to try and get a run up the hill.

Having crossed a few rivers in Africa, this one is not the least bit surprising.

As you say, he could be trying to get a run up to finish the unload, rather than trying to load.

Either way, one presumes that in normal conditions you can get from one to the other without much drama, but the gradient and condition of the access ramp lead to more messing about than normal and then it all started to go wrong. If the brakes/traction at the trailer end are better than that of the truck you then very quickly have the unusual situation where holding it on the breaks and coming up with a revised plan is the worst option!
