We went to the Shady Oak in the 1980's and it seemed to be stuck in a 1960's timewarp. All the music on the jukebox was from the 60's, everybody seemed to be dressed in 60's style (no it wasn't a "theme" night") and best of all the beer prices seemed to have been stuck in the 60's too. We had a great night there and were looking forward to our return visit 2 years ago. Oh dear we did have a disappointment!

Not been for a year or so but last time we were not too impressed by the Shady Oak. I'm sure the same dead flys were on the window sill that were there the year before.

It made us wonder about the kitchen.

We had a nice meal at the Cheshire Cat...nearer to Chester.

By the way, what's the best day to set off up the LLangollen, with respect to hire traffic. Did it used to be Thursday?
