  1. 1. Do you burn candles on your boat?

  2. 2. How important is this issue to you?

    • It is one of my most important issues
    • It is an important topic but not crucial
    • It is neither important nor unimportant
    • It is not a very important topic for me
    • I place it as one of my least important issues
  3. 3. What is the main reason for your answer on the burning of candles on boats?

I find it curious how people are so worried by gas fridges where the pilot light is about the same size as a candle flame (but blue, so producing a tiny fraction of the CO chucked out by a candle flame), yet see no CO risk in burning half a dozen candles at once.

And when did anyone last knock over a gas fridge and set light to the curtains, eh?

It's not often we get a 4 foot swell on the canals, even on Tixall Wide.

You do if you moor near the ends of the Bridgewater Canal

Probably best not to use them in Brayford Pool, though!

I dunno but it certainly seems to happen to gas cookers. This is why there is a regulation requiring them to be chained to the wall or otherwise fixed in position. No longer allowed to be fully freestanding!

But the CO risk I was commenting about doesn't arise from knocking over either the candle, or the fridge!
