We've been boating on and off for nearly 25 years, and owned our own boat for 4 years. The only issue we have ever had was in Gas St basin in Birmingham, where three drunken rowdy lads climbed on the back at 2am to take selfies... "Look, I'm driving the boat!!!" When I went out to tell them to clear off, they were apologetic, saying they didn't realise anyone was on board. All in high spirits but a bit scary for my wife and 14yo daughter at the time.

Or get a big, vocal dog like a GSD

LOL yes get a big dog I have one he make's the noise and looks the part but would run a mile lol

I've got an enlarged photo of my Staffordshire bull terrier stuck to my window saying "welcome to my home" never had any problems!
