"4th May 2017 Illustrated talk: Last Trade on the Grand Union by Terry Putnam. His presentation will be illustrated by a collection of slides he took in the late 1960s when he was aware that the era of commercial carrying on canals was coming to an end. He will give us an insight into the lives of the boating families and the commercial cargos they carried along the Grand Union Canal at that time".

Excellent, will go to that. Especially as we'll be in the area, as we're having our wedding reception at the museum a few days later!

Looking at the museum website, there isn't a link to tickets or more info.

Is this an evening event ?

Do I need to book ?

"Illustrated talks are held at 7.30 pm, on the first Thursday of each month except August. Most speakers illustrate their presentations with photographs. The museum is open 1000 to 1930 on the first Thursday of each month. Admission to talks and museum is charged at the usual museum admission charges. The programme is given below. In the event of any last minute changes to lectures or other events the site will be updated if sufficient notice is available."
