Burscough Canal Festival 18th/19th June

Is anyone planning on going to the Burscough Canal Festival on the 18th & 19th June?

 

I will be attending with Halsall, as well as taking Halsall to Halsall the day before which i am looking forward to. I think it is likely to be the first time Halsall has been to Halsall, but I'll have to confirm that with Madcat.

 

The festival is part of the celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of the first cutting of the Leeds & Liverpool, which i believe was in Halsall (Pluto?).

There is a memorial to the navvies at the spot where the canal was started in Halsall. It's on the towpath side just before the Saracens head.

We went through Burscough on Sunday and it was looking quite busy already including Greenlaw. Although I guess some may be on their way to Liverpool for the IWA event the weekend before.

We will be there btw.

Would like to have gone but heading for Cheshire right now, so no can do. It sounds like it will be a great event
