I dunno where to put this, but it's forum-related.

I have only just noticed, after several years, that I have some 'friends', and I can see who they are. I hadn't even thought about adding people as 'friends'!

How do I go about adding all those new 'friends' to my OWN list of 'friends'?

Just click on their name and click add friend.

Proud and much appreciated you accepted me as your online friend because I like you.

Virtual shoulder push. Lol

It's all a bit odd. There seems to be no point in adding people as 'friends'.

On another site I frequent, the point of friends is you can see a list of their new posts when you log on. This would be dead handy here if possible.

I agree, but only just discovered a list of them, somewhere in me profile!

Mind you, it was a year or two of forum membership before I knew what a 'greenie' was!

Even now, having just looked again, there seems to be no way to add someone as a friend if they have already added me.

(Plus I didn't have 7 at all! I must have been looking at someone else's profile! It's only 3, really, one of whom was sigspider just now! Thanks for that, 3 is a whole lot bigger than 2!)

go orn what?

Add you as a friend? Or agree to you adding me as a friend? I don't fink both can happen.

Like loafer says, the friends thing doesnt work logically.

What ought to happen is sending a 'friend request' (one way or the other), then if accepted both profiles show the other as a friend. But it isnt liek that here!

I just looked at Mr Loafers page and noticed he's got lots of gold stars.

Does this make you a General, or RAF equivalent ?

Where do you get the stars from

Rog

I've just noticed I'm about to reach my 300th post.

Wonder if I'll get a star ;)

The gold star thing was a subject on here a few weeks ago, resulting in a star-awarding frenzy, which got a bit out of hand. Hence I got 4, having earned none of them!

I'll attempt to give you a star just after I post this. Let me know if it works!

You've got a greenie now smile.png

Sorry but stars are a dark art that I have not yet been inducted in.

You have to 'go into' the person's profile, and the star bit is just underneath their avatar. Tick a star or two. Sometimes they go blue, but I can't explain that one.

It's such a feeling of power doling these things out, now thanks to Mr Loafer, I know how to do it.

No-one has yet told us what they're actually FOR. I would have thought being a '5-star member' should require at least some years of dedicated, loyal and uncontroversial contribution to the forum.

I got my 5 stars after a night on the piss and some banter with a few of the 'boys', where stars were being thrown around like a bunch of monkeys playing with a large bag of smarties!

And as a consequence, we're now all stuck at 5 with nowhere to go!
