I hate to disappoint you ....... I put that on her when she was a butty .....I copied it from the one I had on Rigal, which itself was a copy that I got from R Fuller esq. spinster of this parish.

So you had Marcie before Ian Clifton converted her? The plaque was(is?) on the port side of the forward bulkhead before the 10ft hold.

She was originally wearing it on the left side at the end of the back cabin in the full length hold.

But it was still an aluminum copy of the (also) aluminium copy I had on my motor Rigal.

The definition wasn't good, and if the lettering isn't picked out in a good contrasting colour it was pretty well lost IIRC.

My wife Zita and I bought Marcellus from John Edwards at Gas Street Basin in the early 80s.

When we divorced she kept Marcellus and I kept Rigal.

She married Ian Clifton who did the building her into two boats at Royden Farm Shardlow.

I remember speaking with Zita not long after I bought the boat in 2003. I do remember the plaque being well defined though. Was a lovely boat!
