This is very good to know about! And very odd crt haven't signposted it.

On a related note, we only recently found out that the elsan disposal at anglo-welsh/great haywood junction can be opened with a bw/crt key out of hours.

It's round the back of the low building parallel to the T&M. It certainly used to have a sign saying that it isn't a CRT facility and there's a charge for its use.

Not slowing to tickover past moored boats perchance? :)

No, I'm rather good at that, this was 70 on a 60 stretch of dual carriageway. Do keep an eye out for a mobile van on the stretch between Sandon, Salt and Weston.

That's right, there is a small charge (or maybe its a donation, not sure) during hours unless you buy something from them. But once they close it can be accessed with the bw key

Just used this post to locate these facilities. Bizarrely they are marked by the usual symbols on the CRT mooring panel on the canalside but there's no indication of where they are. And before looking here we walked all around the outside of the Visitor Centre (which is actually a cafe with a few leaflets) and couldn't find them.

Daft.

PS The lake is fabulous and a great mooring.

Never knew about the charge - I just tracked it down and used it! It has it's interesting points - the flushing for the elsan disposal and toilet uses collected rainwater (as I think does the washbasin). I presume the shower doesn't... but it's scrupulously clean and really well kept.

We used them a couple of weeks ago, I noticed the sign at the moorings, but had to ask at the bike hire place to find where they actually were, didn't notice any charge for using them, But we were lucky the Oatcake boat was there at the time so we tucked in.
