Lots of engine noise, looked round and a grip boat, full acceleration trying to turn around.

And reverses straight into the side of the boat.

Healfty bang, their outboard has blue paint on the cover, would have thought it may have cracked.

Lots of bikes,3 people on board. A sorry amid lots of engine noise.

So one fender gone, it was only a tyre fender, and scrapes on paintwork.

Everything done at speed

On their way up north.

Look off the boat, wouldn't be insured

Lots of noise! Just damaged paintwork

When it's happening,in front of your eyes

It disbelief!! Sorry cures it all?

So annoying !

Had a hire boat following me yesterday.

Kept looking back as he appeared to moving very fast.

Saw him hit a moored narrowboat, and later a bridge.

We all learn the hard way I'm sure, but travelling slowly would have been a good start.

Hope nothing broken inside the boat.

I cannot understand why pick opposite to willowbridge to turn around ?

Heading south Find a wide beam

And try to turn around,by full throttle in reverse straight into side of boat

Of all the places!!!

Then heading at a rate of knots north with my paint on his engine

But yes they did say sorry

It's the speed they done it

Glad he didn't carry on to turn at Stoke Hammond. If anybody were to hit us again, just after we had to have our entire starboard bow cut out and replaced following our being hit by a speeding hire boat last summer, I think I'd just completely lose it!

We got hit by a holiday boat last year. I emerged from below with my blood starting to froth, only to see a tearful middle-aged lady disappearing below, clearly not enjoying her 'go' of the tiller.

I could no longer be cross. Poor old dear - it was probably their last narrowboat holiday.

ETA Whilst moored.

Couldn't see a number, not a pretty boat, but saw the name coming for us.

But wife, my mate, and me stood in disbelief, watching situation getting worse.

We didn't even shout, scream nothing. a shocked silence lol

Someone said sorry though

There nothing queerer than folk!

"canal boating is a contact sport."

I think that depends on how you define "contact sport" Yes boats will rub and bump together in locks, or while breasted up waiting, maybe even rub when meeting in narrows, that is contact, collision is something different.
