Our tv has broken & needs replacing. "Cello" have a new model on the market that apparently is specially made for caravans, boats, HGV's etc. It is a 12v all singing all dancing set that seems just the job (model C22EFF) but how does it perform? I would be very grateful for anyone experiences with these TV's. Thanks

I've had one for a year or so, but the smaller screen. It does what it says, but the viewing angle is quite narrow. Also, as with all flat screen t.v's, the speaker quality is a bit iffy for those with any hearing impairment.

We just got one from Midland Chandlers. VERY low power consumption, even with DVD playing (1-2A).

Excellent for radio stations with screen off (less than 1A).

However, the sound is utter shiite. Worse than a bad laptop.

We bought a little soundbox thingy, Toshiba, plugged into the telly's headphone socket and permanently powered from a local USB slot.

Now it's very good, albeit narrow view angle.

The price of low power consumption!

We have one. Bought from acdctv.co.uk As has been said the sound is lousy, not unique to this make. We bought some elephant speakers which are small, surprisingly, powered through USB and plug into headphone socket as described above. I think they are about £15 at the moment.

We had one issue that turned out to be our ariel lead, but, they collected, tested and redelivered free of charge to a different location as we were on the move.

Extremely pleased.

I agree with all other comments.

acdctv are on eBay as well. Last time I looked they had a sale on. But doesn't everyone nowadays. Just looked and they now offer click and collect at Argos. Great service if you are moving about a bit. Or not at home. £159.

We bought a Cello about this time last year via Argos click and collect. Sound was abysmal. Improved with a set of USB speakers but that negated some of the advantage of low power consumption. It shortly developed a problem with the built in DVD so sent it back for a refund.

Bought a Finlux 12 volt instead but had problems with that too and ended up getting it replaced. A logistical nightmare for a CCer!

We have a 24 inch cello tv (12volt). It packed up after a month of use. Customer service, however was fantastic. They picked up, repaired and returned within 3 days. It has been working fine for the last few weeks, fingers crossed.

The sound ,as others have said isn't the best. We have ours plugged into the aux input of the dab radio, which improves things enormously.

We have a Cello for well over a year, low power as said previously and use a external speaker, I brought on that you can charge and it's not too bad. Don't use it very often though. Handy for plugging in the laptop and playing via usb external drive. Can charge your phone too via USB socket. I think we got it via eBuyer, 22" plus did for £145 and money back via Quidco.

I have a Samsung 22" Smart TV that runs off 14V. I used it for a year or so at 12V via an adaptor with various outputs, (but not 14V), then tried it at 15V. It was fine at both voltages.

I also have an LG Smart TV that runs off 19V. A second adaptor set at 19V has been running this for over a year.

I found them both by looking at the backs of all the TVs in Curry's and John Lewis to find those with DC inputs via a 240V adapter.

The other day I found some Sony 49" and 50" Smart TVs running off 19.5V DC, which I'm sure would be fine at 19V.

You don't need to pay big money to "specialist suppliers", nor do you have to accept the losses incurred by having an inverter running.

I initially bought a 15 inch Cello tv off amazon and after 2 months it died! Turned on to a tartan green tinged screen when you turned it on and no picture.

The company sent a 22 inch cello tv out at no extra cost and I have had this now over 2 years. This one hasn't been fault free as in the last year, yes that's right it played up just after the warranty. When you turn it on or try to change channels it freezes the picture or changes channel but the picture doesn't come on. To get round this you have to unplug the mains and keep trying, sometimes 10 times to get it to work!!

Would I buy another, no way!!
