Continuous Cruiser 1907

On page 81 of this months Waterways World there is a picture of a breach on the Trent and Mersey in 1907.

2 interesting things about this:-

1) It was repaired in 2 weeks

2) In the picture there appears to be a converted boat in the distance on the mud. I wonder if he is still there?
