fitting traditional collar..tips please

Hi,

I am in the process of fitting a traditional collar for my stove. I have increased the size of the hole to allow the collar to fit I could do with advice on how to seal the collar, thanks

If the flue pipe is the correct fit in the collar ie at least 1/2'' less in diameter than the collars bore, the gap being stuffed with fire rope ect so no flue pipe to collar contact therefore the collar shouldn't get hot at all maybe just a little warm so quite ordinary goo can be used such as Sikaflex, The works, Marineflex to bed the collar down on and which are over paintable.
