martyn 1 Posted August 25, 2015 Report Share Posted August 25, 2015 (edited) Assuming we are talking about the cooling system header tank with your L3B being heat exchanger cooled then a few possibilities below. Unfortunately its very difficult to guess at without the engine in front of you to investigate. but it could be one of the below starting with the one that is far too common..... the rest are in no particular order 1. Topped up with a contaminated jug etc 2. Oil cooler leaking internally 3. does your engine have the water pump type that is greaseable and could have been over greased 4. weeping between oil and waterways on cylinder head joints. Do you have any signs of water in the oil? the list would get a whole lot longer if that is the case. Aspire Posted August 25, 2015 Author Report Share Posted August 25, 2015 Hi yes its the cooling system, and there is no sign of water in the oil could it be the gearbox cooler stack with one of the tubs with a hole in it as it is connected to the header tank.
