If you imagine the bow of ALLISON compressed proportionally in length to about one third (as if photoshopped), you've got a Stowe Hill Marine 'pinched' bow. KGC
I used to work for Spurr Manufacturing Group in Great Bridge Tipton during the mid 70s and Spurr Marine was part of that group. Brian Duvall was the boatbuilder/designer there. He had a couple of young guys working for him, but he was solely responsible for that division. He also completely refitted the reception area in the offices. I remember some of the boats going out on their transporters had the "platypus" looking hull which he told me was Josher style, and they had wooden bottoms. Very interesting to pick up this thread as I was googling Spurr Marine to find out what had become of them!
Boater Sam
I remember the Minton boats carrying pottery wares. Open holds, they used to tie up at the wharf on the T&M outside the factory, think there was a roof over the dock. Can't say that I noticed the bows to be anything unusual.
