I've been looking at a few different anti slip materials to use on my vessel, the ones I have found look good but can anyone else recommend some?

So far I've found some anti slip tapes and paints;

marine anti slip tape - http://www.heskins.com/marine-anti-slip-tape

rustoleum - http://www.rustoleum.com/industrial/problem-solvers/anti-slip-coatings-for-slippery-floors/

tuff coat - http://www.basspro.com/Tuff-Coat-Rubberized-NonSkid-Coating/product/74554/

Interlux - http://www.westmarine.com/buy/interlux--interdeck-nonskid-paint--P004_121_005_502

Any suggestions would be great!

Where are you needing to use it?

Doesn't want to slip??

I presume you meant this one for the Tuff Coat - unless you need the fishing rod to haul yourself out. http://www.tuffcoat.net/wordpress/marine-2/

I wouldn't use tapes or similar, rust forms underneath and the edges lift.

TuffCoat is good, if ugly stuff, - would only use on gunnels, needs to be painted on swiftlt before the stuff in the tin dries, and any masking tape removed immediately.

Interdeck is a finer non-slip effect - good for boat roof/decks as well as gunnels.

You can also buy granules to mix into the same colour paint as the rest of your boat.

You can also use fine silver sand - well baked dry, again mixed in to the 2nd topcoat layer.

Yes, I picked up that he didn't want to slip, its a bit obvious. Well, it was to me anyway.

I asked where he needed to use it, please refer back to my post.

The reason I asked was that (if it was my boat) the cosmetic aspect of anti slip differs on different parts of the boat.

Some areas also need a more coarse anti slip than others.

Are you keeping up ?

I made the mistake of painting my roof with this stuff https://www.teamac.co.uk/products/category/deck-paints/suregrip-anti-slip-deck-paint It was difficult to apply evenly and gave a very abrasive coating.

I've now got some of this for the decks Epifanes Antislipverf Has anyone used it?

Both of these were just bought over the counter at boatyards.

As to non-slip tape, this is OK if used on limited areas. I put some on my bows nearly 10 years ago, it's been painted over twice, and still works fine, with no sign of rust underneath or raised edges:

I have none slip tape on my gunnels at bow and stern where we get on and off, painted over twice and still good. Our roof is done in anti slip deck paint from Black Country Paints from eBay, it has a aggregate premixed. One coat of light grey covered the raddle red and by doing it the hard way with a brush gave a very even costing. Took 4 hours to do our 60 footer, yes a roller would have been much quicker but the finish would not be as good. 4 hours every 2 or 3 years is not too bad.

ETA 2 1/2 litre run did the job and price was about £14-00 a litre
