I read somewhere they can 'print' using concrete, forming the walls of a building, with rooms etc. Wouldn't fancy living there though!

Yes, it would just (currently) cost a stack ton more than rolling the steel into sheets and just running a weld down the corner...

Don't see why not, though it would be entirely made of weld... more possible currently is an automated system like in car manufacturing where the sheets get cut and welded together. but then that's not likely as boats don't have such a huge market and it would cost a fair bit to set up....

Yes - it could print real rivets already fixed in the real holes!

Let me know when it can print a wooden boat, complete with authentic grain, knots and oakum caulking...then I'll be impressed.

Actually you can print with wood.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4ZUJ1d-Jks though obviously it would have different properties to a plank sawn from a tree. Give it a few months and who knows where this technology will be?
