Site Performance

We are currently witnessing technical issues with the site, including slow page loading, errors, and periods of down time.

I am very sorry that this is the case and that the issues are still on going, however I ask members to be patient and understanding while we work on this. We do not fully understand the cause of the issues, but we have 'hit the buffers' in terms of the hosts ability to support us to the point where most things they suggest we try, or we ask as them do, makes it worse or are carried out very badly with long downtimes. The more we try to sort the worse off we are.

The plan is to maintain the site as well as we can on the current host over the weekend, with the aim to move to a new host early next week. The new host specialises in hosting forums and will be able to work more closely with us in providing a stable platform for the site. We have enjoyed excellent up time for many years, and expect this to become the norm again shortly.

For the mean time however, while it make take slightly longer or even number attempts to successfully load pages, there is no area of the site which "doesn't not work" are such, simply that the whole site is having performance issues.

Test site is now on the new hosts server and is testing well.

 

With luck we will move tomorrow morning.
