Don't have a contact number for CRT, but the company that recover them for CRT is commercial boat services, based in chester, have been to inspect a boat for someone in their compound on deeside industrial estate. Could be worth contacting them, they have a website. Hope that helps.

I may be 'talking out of turn', but I get the impression that you'd be unlikely to get a bargain from CRT. Methinks they will be well overpriced as they want to recover their costs of recovery PLUS what was 'outstanding' on the seizure. Many will be wrecks - that's why the owners have walked away from them.

You'd probably be buying 'sight unseen' and not able to have a survey.

Possibly worthy considering if you are capable un all aspects of boatbuilding - but NOT as a cheap place to live / whatever.

I thought you had a boat already. Isn't that it in your avatar?

OR is this a scheme to make some money?!

Hi Mike. That was my boat. Had a real bad last 18months and it had to go due to finances and work. Real gutted. Taken me yeats to get one sswel. So its back to square one with a GRP.

They used to be cheap when BWWas on chatge. I know afew folk that got there boats from them back then. I am ok with all that is nneeded to fix a boat up. No rush either. I always find them. Abd bargains :)

I seem to remember when this came up some time ago on here it was said that BW had a policy of scrapping low value boats which boats which they had acquired as a result of abandonment, Section 8 etc. The argument given for not selling them on was that cheap boats are bought by people with little money, who don't have the means to get them back into a reasonable state, and so it is more than likely that they will soon end up as nuisance abandoned boats again.
