River level website - gaugemap.co.uk

Thanks Magnetman for giving me another time waster, along with Flight Radar 24 and the world shipping movements site!

Seriously though, there's no marker that I could see on the T&M/River Trent section near Alrewas, but no doubt that will be rectified in time.

I have been known to watch Fleetmon on my phone, live movements of container ships in and out of Tilbury. You can even see the tugs coming to help them and gradually maneouvering them into the docks. Its quite cool :)

just going to try something

OK so thats for embedding into a web page not a forum post.

Handy website now the winter is upon us, for river levels and flood alerts

No connection but I noticed in Canal Boating Times and its quite a handy website.

People probably already know about it but its the first time I've seen it.

Good to see Scotland and Ireland enjoying what I can only assume is a drought!

(Irrelevant quote got stuck here, can't remove it on tablet!)

I think the EA site, an example here, http://apps.environment-agency.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels/120744.aspx?stationId=2001 is much clearer with its information. It is updated every 3 hours as opposed to once a day.

Agree, I find the presentation of the data is muddly. EA is better but it's not easy to put together in geographical order.

Gaugemap's ordering on the Severn is certainly not geographic, not much help.

I did my own web page for the Severn (and Avon) using EA data
