Paul G2
What a strange story. Almost makes one wonder if this was insurance fraud.
NickF
If CaRT had done their job properly and blocked the entrance to Pillings this would never have happened!
pophops
What a strange story. Almost makes one wonder if this was insurance fraud. I understand the speculation but I would imagine that the owner of the boat would be upset at such a suggestion being aired on this forum.

(Now where's that "waves handbag" smiley....) ;-) True. The slightly batty ones are the BEST in my opinion! Who wants to be 'normal' anyway?? Anyway thanks for the links. ISTR a long thread on here about that boat after all. I'll see if I can find it... carlt
The theft baffled the boating community because the boat is capable of a maximum getaway speed of about 5mph and would be difficult to conceal on the river and canal network. MtB
It would be a good name for a narrowboat, wouldn't it! MtB
MarkHez
Surely CRT would find it whilst patrolling the visitor moorings? (and probably try and prosecute the owner for not cruising far enough!)
Dharl
sounds a bit similar to the story of the man who stole a boat from Foxhangers on the K&A to use it as a get way vessel...only to be stumped by the Caen Hill flight!
