Can anyone advise if we can turn a 72ft boat into the Titford canal at Oldbury Jcn from the direction of Tipton? If not, we will do it on the return trip.

 

I imagine it was a regular occurrence when the tar boats were going to Midland Tar Distillers between the junction and the bottom lock.

 

Although given subsequent posts, it doesn't look like you will get the chance to try.

I think Goliath is just outside Sherbourne Wharf by the bike boat.

Glen will be arriving Friday evening, We will get into Brum tomorrow evening so I expect a drink on Friday at either the Flapper or Prince of Wales to plan our tactics.

Ok can confirm that Team Pykes will be taking part to include,

Bossy Pykey giving orders and attempting to take the challenge very seriously.

Mr Gadet aka Man of International rescue, mending everything that breaks and getting us there and back!

Nutty Pykey, responsible for catering, official cat catcher and wardrobe!!!!

Also hopefully for the whole journey,

Barney,rear security and scaring of locals,

and asbo cat pyxe who will be attempting to go awol on a regular basis.

If we start at a junction where two of the routes are 2 x bonus and the third is a 3 x, if we start from there, cruise one of the 2 x routes, then return and cruise the 3 x route can we still claim the 7 point starting bonus?

No I don't think so, you have to cruise the whole of the X3 route stage at the start of your trip to get the bonus.
