NorthwichTrader
Would you fit a strainer/water-filter in the pipework before the pump to protect it? Also, is there then a second filter at any point to clean out the crud? Any recommendations? Many thanks, Stuart

Grace and Favour
We use one of these in front of our water pump, and shower pump. They seem to work OK (Linky) Edited October 4, 2014 by Grace & Favour

bottle
Some pumps come with them already fitted and yes, I would fit one. We do have a second (finer) filter on the cold water kitchen tap. Screwfix
bizzard
I just use half a green Scotch scouring pad rolled up and stuffed just into the pump feed pipe, same with my shower drain, brilliant filter and cheap, a whole packet of them can be bought for about a pound.
