EE blocking this forum

Has anyone else experianced this message from EE Mobile Broadband.

The website you're trying to access is blocked by EE's Content Lock system because it contains copy that's unsuitable for under 18s.

Oh really? EE say they know there is an issue but say it's the site's fault because classifies itself as adult!

Well I can't see a <meta name="rating" content="value"> which equals mature or restricted,

I guess its the old chestnut of canal including a 'blocked' word.

Yes it's the anal bit.

Their content blocker thinks you want to visit a dubious web site.

You can normally lift the content blocker via your on line EE account or failing that by ringing them.

When I was on a business trip to Riyadh a few years ago I got a message up on screen that access to this site had been blocked by the Saudi Morality Police, but that if I thought the site was OK I could apply to have it added to the list of acceptable websites.

I quickly decided I could do without my CWDF fix for a few days.

Actually it's even blocking this page which comments about it.

(edit) Although it's never happened before!

Just get EE to temove their porn filter, not sure if you can do it online but may be a call to customer services, I use the word services advisedly

No, they can't do it either online or over the phone.

I've never been blocked from the site by EE. I'm using it now.

I have been. It depends on your adult filter settings.

You have to get them disabled to get access to canal world. Sometimes they are disabled by default requiring no intervention by the account holder.

When I rang EE (orange as was) about this a few years ago the guy in Orange CS knew exactly what the issue was. I reckon the same issue has carried through to EE.

This is why compulsory web filtering is David Cameron's second worst idea. (Giving the Scots a referendum being the worst, of course.)

I use EE but do all web access via a proxy running on my personal server in the cloud, to avoid all this nonsense. That not a good solution for most people, unfortunately.

MP.

Was in contact with EE this morning, they had a 'glitch' and were working on it.

If you are with EE and have 'My EE' you can change it there.

or phone them and they will do it for you

or visit one of their shops.

I had one of their tech, guys change it this morning and it worked but soon 'fell over'.

All seems OK now.

It's a problem that's been around, on and off, for over a year. Today it seems that thousands of EE customers are being denied access to many website (including this one). My own settings allow "18+" material but stillcan't access this site, I'm on a proxy server now.

It's quite ridiculous that adults of being denied their freedom in this way. Supervision of what children are up to should the responsibility of parents, not the state.

That explains it then, I had the same problem when with orange a good while back.

Only problem I have is the font on my phone is far to small and I don't know how the magnify it.

It's a nokia Lumia 520.

Anyone got any ideas, as it's really frustrating only being able to read posts by email notification.

And not being able to reply until I get home, only to find I've forgotten which posts I want to reply to

Not really thay also stated that a charge of £2 would be made and then immediatley refunded.

This would prove you were over 18 as to have a credit card you have to be.

There were at least two other methods of proving 'over 18' but yesterday they also were not working.
