8 Hairy Feet
Hmm i thought we were now calling it "Leeds Dock"?????
Timleech
I find that notice confusing. Is the restriction to the dock approach channel, or to the actual navigation? Not that it affects me directly. Maybe they should send a dredger? Tim

Most of it fell in the South West, and it didn't flow uphill to Leeds
Naughty Cal
Update on 17/09/2014: A Canal & River Trust tug has freed the grounded vessel, the channel is now available with restricted navigation. Until dredging works to remove the sandbar have been undertaken, the channel is limited to vessels with a draft not exceeding 0.71m (2’ 4”). Skippers of all craft should keep to the port side of the channel when heading upstream. This notice will be updated as soon as a date for the dredging has been set. Grace and Favour
The water's clearly lowered even over the last few days. It was only on Sunday that we winded at this spot, (and our widebeam draws 2'8" ) I'll put our success down to luck, not judgement!!!

Robbo
The water is lower than normal in that part due to the weir wooden tops all but gone. The vessel wasn't the standard narrowboat It got stuck just at the junction off the river. Edited September 18, 2014 by Robbo
carlt
The vessel wasn't the standard narrowboat The "standard narrowboat" is not a native species of the Aire and Calder.

Oh never mind, I'll let you know how the level of the Torridge is next week, when I get to play for a week. (having gone through last winter on the Avon,I'm well aware about how levels on rivers work.. )
