Dastardly&Muttley
Hi all I'm going to look at a boat at the weekend which has a Lister LT2 engine. I'm new to boats and know next to nothing about engines other than what I was taught in engineering lectures years ago - certainly nothing practically useful. The boat is a 45' narrowboat and my main query is whether the LT2 (which I think is 15hp at max rpm) has enough grunt for powering the boat. I've read on other posts that prop size, torque and rpm are important for working out engine size - can someone explain what to look for? Also, is there anything in particular I should be looking out for when checking out the engine? Thanks!

bigste
There is nothing like a test drive for finding out the usefulness of the power on the prop.
