Gardner LW Sprayers. Advice please

I have a handful of spare used sprayers for my 3LW and am looking to get these serviced and then fit a set. The majority are marked LW and "K", one or two are marked LW and "E". I am not presently on the boat and am not sure which type are currently fitted (I was was checking the valve clearances last week and forgot to look!) .

Am I okay getting the K type serviced and fitted or does this in any way require to match the injection pump?

Also having not done this before, any advice on removing and replacing the sprayers will be gratefully received. I have a Gardner LW manual so am familiar with what that says and have a threaded extraction tool and sprayer key. I do not have the correct cleaning tool that Gardner recommended, what alternatives can be used?

Finally, what advice do the LW experts have on the appropriate frequency of sprayer servicing?

Thanks

Chris

Best to have three of the same type, and the K type are the later, preferred, version. No change to pump settings needed.

The cleaning tool ('reamer') is only really needed if the sprayers have become badly stuck in with carbon deposits.

Otherwise just make sure the conical seating in the head is clean, don't scratch it if you do need to clean it.

The book recommendation is change the sprayers at 4800 hours but check, by using the hand priming levers, that they are 'squeaking' or vibrating every 800 hours

Hi Do you mean if they squeak they dont need cleaning?

Nope - if they squeak that just means they are injecting, it has no bearing on the quality of the spray pattern. So if you having issues it may be that they work but require a service.

Thanks for the info. I'm happy with my 4LW performance so I'll leave well alone but check periodically that all 4 injectors squeak.
