A friend of mine who has been boating for 20 years were going down canal today when we see a boat stuck in the silt, he said to me if we go past the boat quickly we can SUCK HIM OFF i know boaters can be very friendly but thought that was to much LOL

Well CRT shaft you for your licence, knowledgeable engineers amongst us will be very familiar with flanges, I'd imagine. You have to give your mooring pins a fair clout when the ground is dry.

When we bought our boat we got stuck on silt when moving over to let a faster boat go past, we got grounded but the very nice lady steering the passing boat offered to pull us off. Which was nice.

You would have thought that experience should have told her that in some situations, Slow & Easy sometimes get much better results, going at it to fast or UN prepared just end up creating a right old mess.

I hope there was no damage to her bottom anyway, and so long as there was a happy ending I'm sure there was smiles all around !.
