Covered dry docks near London

Hello,

we're planning on painting our boat this Summer (August/September).

Can anyone recommend a suitable covered dry dock near London for the job?

We started painting it last Summer, but being at the mercy of the elements proved very frustrating.

Any help much appreciated.

It's very short notice to find any dry dock in August/September near London. If it's indoors they probably won't let you stay on her overnight. You could try Fred who runs the dry dock at St Pancras Cruising Club but you'll be hoping for a cancellation. There's also one at Enfield you could try.

Uxbridge, or further north, Bulbourne.

There is a dry dock, and I believe a wet dock, at Bulls Bridge.

 

The new covered slip at Circus Fields Aylesbury may be open by then.

 

There is an open air slip at Harefileld marina

 

As others have said it is very late to get a slot in August

For topside painting the OP won't need the covered slip at Circus Field as that is more suited to work on the black bits, but the heated wet dock would be suitable if he was an ACS member....

I booked my June drydock slot in October last year. Wanted March or April but they were already booked up! You could waitlist for a cancellation on several?

Enfield on the Lee has a dry dock, we passed one at the Water treatment plant near Harefield, no idea if you can hire it though. Moor under a M25 or similar bridge?

Highline have an indoor heated wetdock at Cowley if its above the waterline work
