The Aylesbury arm taircase locks will be closed on 8th, 9th and 10th April. Details on the CRT site talk of by-wash improvements. Local information is that it is to divert the paddle culvert between locks 1 and 2 out of the old concrete works which is now a development site.

I went down at Easter. Huge anounts of water sometimes flowing over the top gates when the lock was full. Lovely trip and nice to see all the work that has been done. It was hard work though 7 hours from bottom to top single handed.

Well I was not saying there's anything wrong with it apart from you need extra spinach to open the odd gate.

I was glad to see so much water after thinking it would be bottom scraping all the way.
