joerobo
Popped over today. Looked the same so must be how it sits in the water.
Athy
Good on you. Did you take down the index number while you were there, just in case of mishap?
Grace and Favour
Popped over today. Looked the same so must be how it sits in the water. Thanks, although a call to CRT may still be useful, for the boat may still be taking on water slowly, and only the owner knows how low she sits

gary955
Yes it does sit very low Lovely boat mind!
luctor et emergo
Ahh, that Merlin. Yes, it wad designed to look like it is sitting deep in the water. The cabin sides are higher than normal, to compensate for that. Bit of an aquired taste to be honest.
carlt
Bit of an aquired taste to be honest. The boat or the builder?

Guest
Far too excited to sleep - as of today (technically yesterday) this is my boat! (And yes, the survey etc was good, she is just very sleek looking! We're moored between two other boats and the gunwales are all at about the same height but the appearance is definitely different).

A thread revived! So you've bought Merlin? Is she your first boat?
Guest
Yes! Sort of like googling your own name looking up your boat on here. My first boat and all a bit of an adventure :-)

My first boat and all a bit of an adventure ? How splendid, well done. The internet shows a 54-footer called Merlin for sake at Great Heywood. I suspect that's not yours though, as she doesn't look low-slung as suggested above.
Guest
Thank you! And yes, different Merlin. This is Merlin No. 1 a 60ft 1986 Braine tug. Edited to add: quite a popular name I think (without the "No 1"bit anyway) so I checked the registered number is the same as Matty40s quoted above. Of course, now I've read the old thread and refreshed my memory, that becomes clear. She sounds a very distinguished boat. Have you any photos of her? Guest
It was tipping it down yesterday and I had family in tow so not yet but will get some soon :-)
Guest
Here we go! Recent snaps of the tug. The lounge and galley are all Farrow and Ball, boatman's cabin much more traditionally cosy. Rather fun combo. Can't believe I don't have any engine pictures yet - those are possibly rather important to proper boaters!
