area-specific sections?

my thoughts are it would be good to have a section for boaters in a local area to help each other out with problems, exchange local news, canal problems, perhaps do informal mooring exchanges etc. Not sure if this is so relevant down south because it is 'one big village'? Anyway, it could be useful for Scottish boaters...

Isn't it just easier to put a location in the topic box, given someone 30 miles and 20 locks away could be 2-3 days away so what is local in boating terms? Too many sections runs the risk of it all getting too fragmented a well chosen title tells the story. just my view.
