Anyone can organise a banter. Over the years they have become more elaborate. The first ones were a meet up in a pub for lunch, now some boats travel a long way, and they can go on for days. Use the search facility and type in "+banter +easter" (without the quotes, but otherwise exactly as I have typed). That will bring up a list including two easter banters, one at Gnosall, one at Napton. There are also historic boat gatherings at Ellesmere Port and Foxton, where doubtless some bantering will go on.

plus of course you don't have to come by boat.... you can come by other means too. You just need to seek out some cheap (or free if you are lucky!) local accommodation.

Yes, thanks Martin, I was posting on a tablet, and forgot to add what you've said. Just get there, either short term, or stay local - some boats may even be offering berths for the night.

The way its going round here Maffi will still be in Loughborough for the next one. Still he's keeping himself busy by writing letters in the local rag about dog excrement!!

Guess I might organise the next Loughborough banter but is a bit early to start. But for peoples diary it will be Saturday 27th December probably in the Swan in the Rushes.
